Brooches - I'm thinking excentric; and turkish delight!!!

I'm working on textile brooches, using fabric selected from my lovely textile collection, gathered over the past (many) years! I've been so precious about them sofar, but now am dying to use some of my beautiful silks, laces, trims, buttons.

This is the start of a collection, which will be on display at my village's Christmas Fair - Montpeyroux, France, 6th December from 10 am to 17pm and in St-Jean de la Blaquiere on 20th December - at very reasonnable prices!

I'm hand stitching a little text for this little textile book to be collected tomorrow.

Custom order for Laeticia - Commande pour Laetitia

I've been working on a new baby blanket for Laeticia's friend's baby, born in October (already!). It's a little girl. I've gone for soft colours and luxurious fabric (silk and fine soft cotton) and lovely prints like the beige bird print on dark purple background. The edging and backing is a crisp but soft floral cotton.

This last picture is a detail of the backing and edge.

Custom order for Christine - First update

A custom order inspired by my Homerton Hospital skirt, previously pictured.
There is still some work, these are just the foundation layers. I will add a few more elements to bring it all together.

Handheld mirror, using untreated wood - Second

This second mirror is made using a dark piece of wood with an interesting base - like a big knot.
I've used blue Fairtrade textile, and a piece of zebraed leather for the mirror suround.
Not much sanding done on this piece of wood. I thought it looked just great like this.
It's 33cm high (13 inch). Mirror size is 4.5 cm.
